Live the Magic
We are only as strong as we are united

"On this day, the thirteenth of June of the year two thousand and thirty four, in the spirit of honesty, safety and the equality of all mankind, the magical population and the non-magical population will no longer remain hidden from one another, but will be unified as one. Rather than withholding from one another, we today take a step toward a better future, as the union of two such extraordinary cultures and resources promises a betterment in quality of life for all. This statute applies to every living being that is capable of thinking and reasoning for itself. Either Discrimination or Deceptiveness in respect to the statute are both considered the highest form of noncompliance in all countries involved, and are punishable as treason. Every world leader, both magical and non-magical, have signed this statute in agreement that Transparency between the respective communities of the world is the best path toward knowledge and peace."

Hadley Cordova
6th Year Gryffindor Seeker; "A well-read woman is a dangerous one"

A loud groan slipped from Hadleys lips as she impatiently flipped through the pages of her Herbology book and then shot a glare to her parchment. She had reached the common room early, snagging lunch to sneak it on up so that she could work on the homework she had been neglecting. It was just so... so boring. She sat on the floor with her short legs sprawled out before her, her back against the couch as Bluebell flames crackled softly in the fire. Most people would have been sweating sitting this close to the hearth, but not Hadley. She had been freezing all day and walking across the grounds and back had not improved that... or her mood. She wore two heavy sweaters, one of the sleeves pulled over her freezing fingers while the other held her quill above some crinkled parchment, her book in her lap.

"This is so pointless," she groaned, her face falling into her hands. Hadley emitted another groan into her palms, lowered her hands to shove her book off of her lap and continued to sprawl against the rug-clad floor in what looked like a very uncomfortable position. She blinked up at the ceiling.

"My life is being wasted away by pointless common sense everyone should already know," she muttered to herself. Why work on things like Herbology when she could be reading something worthwhile? Hadley turned her face towards the Bluebell flames, her hair a mess upon the floor; she shot another glare at her book. She had to get this stupid essay done. Among other things. She wished she had Quidditch practice tonight as an excuse. But, if she didn't keep up her grades, she would get kicked off the team.

"Dammit," she growled, her fingers reaching for the discarded book while still laying in her awkward position against the bottom-half of the couch, one leg up against it, her back curved so that she was almost laying in the shape of a C.
