Live the Magic
We are only as strong as we are united

THE INTERNATIONAL STATUTE OF TRANSPARENCY

"On this day, the thirteenth of June of the year two thousand and thirty four, in the spirit of honesty, safety and the equality of all mankind, the magical population and the non-magical population will no longer remain hidden from one another, but will be unified as one. Rather than withholding from one another, we today take a step toward a better future, as the union of two such extraordinary cultures and resources promises a betterment in quality of life for all. This statute applies to every living being that is capable of thinking and reasoning for itself. Either Discrimination or Deceptiveness in respect to the statute are both considered the highest form of noncompliance in all countries involved, and are punishable as treason. Every world leader, both magical and non-magical, have signed this statute in agreement that Transparency between the respective communities of the world is the best path toward knowledge and peace."

@Shei

Early January, Just past 1 a.m.

Tonight had been a night that seemed to be growing more and more common the fifth year Hufflepuff girl. It had to be at least one in the morning. It had been Friday night. Now she supposed it was Saturday. She had worked hard all day at school. She had practiced Quidditch for hours. She had spent a couple hours doing homework. She had even spent an hour or two with her friends. By all rights she should have been passed out in comfy bed in the Hufflepuff Girls’ Dormitory. She was absolutely exhausted. Yet she wasn’t down in the Hufflepuff Girls’ Dormitory. Despite the fact that her eyes felt as if they would close at any moment and she’d pass out mid-walk. There was too much on her mind and, quite frankly, she was too tired to sleep.

So she found herself sneaking up from the Hufflepuff Common Room in the dungeons. Making her way to the kitchen’s for some midnight snacking as her stomach growled something fierce. She yawned as she walked the quiet halls of Hogwarts. It seemed so peaceful. The only sound was the quite taps of her feet against the floor. Fiona’s short, deep red hair was unkempt and her brown eyes were only half-opened. She was dressed in a strange mismatch of clothing. She sported a pair of black pajama pants with yellow stripes on the side and an opened black and yellow Hufflepuff night robe which dragged on the ground behind her as it was slightly falling off her left shoulder. It was not fastened, however, as it was left open to show a dark green tank top bearing the team name and insignia of the Irish National Quidditch Team. Her willow wand stuck out from the right hand pocket. She bore no socks, but she did have on two different slippers. One was a green one with the same insignia as her shirt and the other bore the insignia of the Strawhat Pirates from One Piece. She had not even noticed they weren’t the same pair of slippers when she threw them on. She was too tired and hungry to notice or care at the moment.

With how slow she was trudging, she thought she might never reach the kitchen. However, she was close and her craving for lemon cakes was stronger than her weariness. However, before she could arrive at the kitchens and her sweet, delicious lemon cakes she was hit with something as she turned a corner. She was right outside the kitchens. So close. Yet not close enough. Instead she was met with some kind of liquid being dumped all over her body waking her further from her weariness. Her deep red hair plastered itself to her forehead, soaked and her hands reached to her eyes as she rubbed them. “What the heck,” Fiona managed as she looked herself up and down. She was soaked from head to toe. A small frown formed on her face as she looked around with a confused look. “The universe really doesn’t want me to have lemon cakes tonight.” Fiona said with a hint of annoyance in her voice. Not that she believed in that sort of thing.

@Liz

Early November 2035

As she entered the common room, Fiona noted that there was no-one other than her and Marc there. As suspected given it was a day off and by this point most everyone would be up. She still did not quite know why Marc wanted to bring the food from the kitchen back to the common room though. Tasted the same wherever it was eaten, right? She rolled with it though. She was sure there would be a reason fro them coming back to the Hufflepuff Common Room.

For now, she let herself fall onto the black couch as she rubbed her stomach. She had eaten several small items on the way up, but the girl was still very hungry. Her hunger was greatly downsized by the feeling of being back in the common room. IT was good to be home. It wasn’t until she got onto the couch that she realized how tired her body was from their earlier run. The whole room was cool from being located in a dungeon, however, despite it’s location it never felt dank or dim or cold. It was welcoming with its black and bright yellow colors, it’s warm fireplace and the familiar sight of the Hufflepuff Badger sigil above the mantle place. The whole place was relaxing and now it was much quieter than usual.

She pulled out a small lemon cake she had taken from the kitchen. There was plenty of other food they’d taken. The House Elves were always pleased to make it after all. She had always loved lemon cakes though. She took a small bite, savoring it. It felt like it had been forever since she tasted something so fantastic. Even though she probably had a lemon cake a week ago. Once she finished the bite of food, Fi turned her sights to her fellow Hufflepuff. “Soooooooo. Why’d you want to come back here anyway?” Fiona inquired as she pushed herself up, sitting more straight on the couch. Fi wasn't complaining. She enjoyed the common room, even if she didn't like being cooped up in it too often or for too long usually. She found it a bit strange that he had wanted them to come back here of all places to eat. Sure, nobody was coming in any time soon, but still. She took another bite of her lemon cake while looking at her friend expectantly. It was the first time she had eaten all day. All that Charms work and running and mischief had made her very hungry indeed.

[/dohtml] Fi’s amber eyes surveyed the almost empty Great Hall as she chewed on a piece of bacon. It was such a different atmosphere, but alas it was one she had gotten used to. So much quieter and surreal. It reminded her of her night-time walks. However, unlike her night-time walks, the quietness of the Great Hall was somewhat unsettling to her. It was even quieter than usual early Saturday mornings and it was a particular cold mid-October day as it was. It seemed like a recipe for melancholy. She could not help but wish she had someone to talk to. Her mind went to her best friend as if him still being at school would change that she had no-one to eat with at the moment. It was six in the morning. He wouldn’t have been up and even if he had been he was in Ravenclaw.

Fi let out a sigh as she shook her head trying to change the subject in her mind. She did not mind being up so early. Growing up on a Herbologist farm you got used to being up early very quickly. It was better to wake up yourself than let the mandrakes do it for you. That was always nasty. She learned quickly in that case. However, if it had not been for her Quidditch captain calling for a two hour practice at four a.m. on a Saturday, Fi would probably of still been asleep. She loved Quidditch though so that certainly wasn’t the problem. The issue was that is was six-twenty a.m. and her teammates had all already finished their food and moved on to bigger and better things. She took a swig of milk as she looked down at her plate of bacon and eggs. Her eyes then moved along the table to the biscuits. In what seemed like the blink of an eye her willow wand was already out in her hand. “Wingardium Leviosa,” she said with a swish and a flick. With what seemed like no effort the plate of biscuits lifted into the air and perfectly placed itself within arm’s reach. She grabbed a biscuit and took a large bite out of it.

Taking another bite of her delicious bacon and eggs, Fi could not help but wonder what the day had in store for her and what exactly she should do with her Saturday. Though she still wore her black and yellow Quidditch robe, she had already switched out into a pair of jeans and One Piece t-shirt with the Strawhat Jolly Roger dead-center. Her Quidditch helmet still sat upon her head with her goggles pulled up onto the top and her short hair poked up from underneath the protective gear. Her hair had settled on a light blue color that morning. Her broom and bag of Quidditch gear sat at her feet underneath the table. Maybe she’d take a lap around Hogwarts for some fun? Or perhaps she could go practice some spells for Dueling Club? She knew she sure as heck didn’t want to go back to the Hufflepuff dormitory and continue studying Transfigurations or even worse Potions. Ugh. Just the thought of doing so made her recoil. She’d rather spend her Saturday with Moaning Myrtle.

Fi is a young ebullient tomboy with a deep passion for Quidditch and a competitive streak. She was raised by her single father, a muggleborn herbologist, on a farm in rural Ireland. Due to the rural nature of the farm, her father’s protectiveness and her status as a metamorphmagi prohibiting her from being in muggle society due to a lack of control of her powers, Fi did not leave the farm very often. As such most of her human interaction came from her father, whom the girl is incredibly close to. Due to her closeness to her father, Fi picked up many of his interests such as his old music, movies, manga, Quidditch and video games. Fi is an overly passionate, stubborn mush-mouth. As a young girl, she has little experience with the world as well as with who she is and she is still largely figuring out exactly who she is.

+ Things Fi Likes

Quidditch - One of her favorite things in the world, she grew up always going to Irish National Quidditch Team games and she has been a Hufflepuff Chaser since her second year.

Doctor Hoo - Her pet White-Faced Scops Owl known as Doc for short.

Puns

Charms - Her best class

Herbology - Having grown up on a farm with a Herbologist, Fi has shown quite an aptitude for Herbology

Care of Magical Creatures - Possibly her favorite class, Fi is always excited to see what new creature awaits her. She doesn’t mind getting dirty and having grown up on a farm is quite used to animals.

Dueling Club - She had to drop out of it in her second year due to her grades slipping thus making it so that she might get kicked from the Quidditch team. She hated giving it up, but when her grades picked up in her third year she started it up again and loves it to this day.

Hats - Some girls have closets full of shoes. Fi doesn’t care about shoes. However, she does have closets full of hats. The sillier the better. Her love of hats comes from the fact that as a Metamorphmagi she had to hide herself whenever going out in public. They were her protection from prying eyes and she grew to love and adore them.

Night Time Strolls - While few things can manage to make the girl fluster and worry, there is a small list of things that do quite a bit and usually a night time stroll is the only thing that can help her clear her mind in those cases. Even, no, especially if said stroll is past curfew and/or somewhere she doesn’t belong.

Her Father - Despite how much of a tomboy she is, Fi is actually a total Daddy’s girl and is incredibly close to her father whom she will do almost anything for.

Lemon Cakes - “What? They’re delicious. Don’t judge me.”

Puns - “Don’t lie to me - you know that I know that you love puns too.”

Manga, Video Games and old Music/Movies - Especially One Piece, Berserk, Akira, Crpgs, Fallout, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, The Beatles, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and the Big Lebowski.

Things Fi Dislikes

Spicy Food - “Nooo!!! Not the ghost pepper dipped in wasabi!!! Anything but the ghost pepper dipped in wasabi!!!”

Drama - Fi is a simple girl who more often than not likes simple things. She doesn’t enjoy drama and likes to avoid it whenever possibly. (which is why she’s perfect to be thrown in the middle of it >:D)

The One Piece 4kids Dub - Damn it 4kids

Being treated differently - especially if it is because of her sexuality or status as a wizard or Metamorphmagus.

Mush-Mouth - She gets embarrassed when she goes all mush-mouth. Which is really bad because usually when she goes mush mouth it’s because she is embarrassed. The never-ending cycle.

Ghosts n’ Goblins - “Screw that game.”

Potions - It’s her worst class

Transfiguration - She has a lot of trouble with Transfiguration. just looking at her Transfiguration grade can tell you that much.

Needing a Tutor - Apart from the fact that it makes her feel stupid, her last tutor was her best friend since she was very young - even before she went to Hogwarts - and as such it would be a very hard position to fill. She tries to stay away from things that remind her of him given he graduated last year.

Extremely Girly Things - They’ve always been somewhat off-putting to her

Her Hair - As a Metamorphmagi, Fi’s hair is subject to change quite often. this is doubly so for a young teenage girl who’s emotions can sometimes run rampant. This is usually shown through her ever-changing hair color and she really dislikes her hair constantly giving away her emotional state. Makes her feel like she can’t have the privacy others do because of a fluke of birth. That being said, she doesn’t hate being a metamorphmagi. Rather, she is conflicted by it. While she loves the freedom of being capable of changing her appearance, more often than not in her life she has found her ability to be more of a handicap than anything else - prohibiting her from living what she would deem a normal life.

FRIENDS: Friends: As someone who is overly passionate, Fi cares very deeply for those whom she calls her friends. She is hard-working, competitive and very bubbly with a good sense of fair play. At the same time, she is definitely someone who stops to smell the roses and can sometimes find it hard to get serious - especially if it isn’t regarding something she is passionate about.

I’m looking for all kinds of friendships here and I’m definitely willing to rp someone as already being a friend of hers.

In particular, I’d like to establish a friendship with another member of the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team (Fi has been a chaser on the Hufflepuff team since her second year).

It would also be cool to get a friendly rivalry going with someone given her competitive streak.

Not to mention someone akin to a best friend given that her best friend graduated the year before this one and she is somewhat lonely because of it.

Another idea I have is that she will most likely need a tutor. She had one for Potions and Transfiguration from 2-4 years, however, he graduated at the end of last school year. Given that the guy was her best friend since before she ever even went to Hogwarts, however, probably means it’d be a hard role to fill for her.

. Marcus Barrow - Quidditch Teammate, Running Buddy and Oldest, Bestest Hogwarts Friend

ENEMIES: Enemies: While Fi is generally a very bubbly girl with a distaste for drama, everyone has their enemies. Her enemies would most likely be people that cause lots of drama or at least from her viewpoint they do as well as just anyone who is a blatant jerk. It isn’t farfetched for someone to find Fi’s ebullience annoying either. Not to mention she is a particularly stubborn girl and she does have a very strong competitive streak to her.

I’d definitely like an unfriendly rival. Perhaps someone from another House Quidditch team or maybe someone in one of her favorite classes like Charms. Another good option could be through Dueling Club given that Fi is a part of it. It would help if they were exceedingly cocky/arrogant and perhaps a bit smarmy or the like. Another could be someone who in general just isn’t very fair and is somewhat underhanded given her sense of fair play.

LOVERS: Lovers: Fi has no experience in the department of love. A big reason for this is the fact that she is a lesbian which is something she has never told anyone and only her best friend - whom graduated already - was the only person who knew. it is definitely a touchy subject with her and she is rather self-conscious of it. However flustered she might get by romance though, Fi is a deeply passionate girl and it would certainly show. That being said, any kind of romance with her would have its fair share of bumps given it would be largely trial and error with her. She’s never done anything romantically before and is definitely a klutz and a mush mouth when it comes to such things. She is easily flustered and embarrassed by this.

A crush perhaps? Maybe one on her, maybe one she has on another girl. Heck, maybe there is a guy who likes her. That could be particularly awkward and flustering for her. She wouldn’t know how to handle having a crush or being crushed on. Sure, there have been plenty of girls who’ve turned her head before, but she hasn’t really fallen for anyone before nor crushed on anyone that hard.

A first relationship could be nice, though she is in the closet currently so it would be somewhat secretive.

. Guinevere VanDerberg - Roommate, Friend and Fi's unrequited crush at the moment

OTHERS: Others: I’m open to all kinds of plot ideas and my ears are open. If you have an idea/want to plot with Fi, but it doesn’t necessarily fit in the above categories - fear not! Just post away anyway!

Being a metamorphmagus, Fi’s appearance can vary greatly depending on her mood. However, normally her short cut hair often settles for a deep reddish brown and her eyes settle for an amber color. She is a somewhat petite girl, only standing at five foot one, but she is very lean and muscular for a girl her age from years of Quidditch and working out. Despite her lean, fit build, Fi still has some baby-face going on.

Often times, Fi can be seen wearing one of her many different hats from her collection many of which are exceedingly silly. She has a tendency to wear t-shirts bearing her favorite bands, manga, shows, etc as well as jeans. Of course, that would be when she isn’t wearing the Hogwarts school uniform which she wouldn’t mind if not for the skirt. As is, she is always itching to get out of her uniform and into what she deems as “real” clothes.

At heart, Fi has always been a bubbly, free-spirited tomboy with a love for sports and a very competitive streak peaking through her usually ebullient nature. She is an extremely passionate person, particularly when it comes to Quidditch, Manga (Especially One Piece), Video Games (Especially rpgs), Care for Magical Creatures and Charms. Normally, Fi tends to take it easy and is the kind of girl to stop and smell the roses. She is filled with both wanderlust with a desire to not just see the world and all it has to offer, but more importantly to experience it as well. She is a very competitive girl with a strong sense of fair play. Perhaps her work ethic comes from her upbringing. Growing up on a farm can indeed instill a good work ethic. Maybe it’s just her extreme passion kicking in. Most likely a bit of both. She works incredibly hard on the things she is passionate about and expects to that effort show itself - which it usually does. This is the reason she gets particularly frustrated with Transfiguration and Potions. She puts a ton of work into them and tries incredibly hard even though she has little to no passion for either, but doesn’t see her effort really paying off. She isn’t often the type to get super flustered or worrisome about most things. That isn’t to say there aren’t things she doesn’t worry about. Quite the contrary. She doesn’t worry or get flustered about most things, but the things she does get flustered and/or worrisome over she gets very much so despite her usual bubbly optimism. The things she’ll get worrisome over usually fall into four categories: her father, her Transfiguration and Potions grades, her status as a metamorphmagi and anything having to do with romance. Especially the latter two.

Fi grew up away from both the wizarding and muggle societies in rural Ireland due to her father never quite feeling like part of the wizarding world and her status as a metamorphmagi would bring up severe complications with living in the muggle world. This is also the main reason she is conflicted over the International Statute of Transparency. On one hand, due to the previous need of hiding the wizarding world, Fi grew up often times feeling somewhat isolated and alone. It was also never a great feeling having to hide herself and who she was. Unlike other witches and wizards, she couldn’t just not cast magic in public around muggles. She simply couldn’t be around them. The newfound freedom of not having to hide herself anymore is fantastic, but on the other hand she is a very free-spirited person and doesn’t enjoy the feeling of having big brother looking down at her. She already felt the Ministry of Magic was sort of creepy before the Statute. Now? She has to register herself and carry around a card. She gets funny looks by muggles sometimes when walking around in public the few times she has since the Statute. She quickly learnt that she was still very uncomfortable showing herself to muggles. For some reason being without her hats made her feel somewhat naked. For as long as she could remember she always loved hats with a deep passion. She would wear them to hide her often changing hair color. She grew to love them. A shield, protecting her from prying eyes.

As an inexperienced young girl, Fi doesn’t know a lot of things. She might be a bit of a smart ass, but when it comes down to it the ebullient youth is still just a fourteen year old daddy’s girl. And she IS a complete Daddy’s girl, make no mistake about it. She has a very close relationship with her father and will do almost anything for him and vice versa. She usually tells him everything, but there is one thing she has never told him. To be honest, she’s never really told anyone. She wouldn’t quite know how to go about telling someone. However, day by day it becomes clearer to her that she is not interested in boys in the slightest. She doesn’t particularly mind the fact that she is lesbian and to a degree she has even accepted it in a strange way. However, it is something she is very easily flustered about. In general she gets flustered and embarrassed when it comes to romance given her inexperience with such matters. She does not quite understand why she is so scared to tell people about this. It isn’t that she thinks people won’t accept her. Perhaps it’s because she’s already different enough being a metamorphmagus. Not to mention her competitive streak and stubbornness already turn people away sometimes. Keeping this secret, however, stresses her out a lot and she has found herself taking more and more long nighttime strolls - sometimes even past curfew. It doesn't help that she is already somewhat insecure about being a metamorphmagus as while she enjoys having fun with her powers, she is extremely self-conscious about how the color-changes give away her feelings. Not being able to keep something so personal as what she is feeling to herself - especially given the fact she isn't the best at controlling her emotions - is something that does indeed trouble her. Sometimes it feels like the only thing that can clear her mind as of late is going on walks - often times in places she shouldn't be and times she should not be out. She often deflects other girl’s comments about her getting a date or just comments about romance in general with sarcasm and tends to dodge the subject.

Fiona was raised in rural Ireland by a single father who was a muggleborn wizard. Fi never met her mother and her father never talked about her. It was very rare that they would leave their farm. After all, Fi was a metamorphmagus. It wasn’t even an hour after she was born that what little hair she had changed color three times. Her father had always shielded the girl from the world. It was why she was raised away from society in the first place. Besides it wasn’t like she could live anywhere muggles might see her. Not with that ever-changing hair color. When she wasn’t helping her father with his herbologist work on the farm, Fi was listening to her Dad’s old music, reading his old manga or playing his old video games - usually with him. Other than the holidays when her grandparents would come over, Fi almost never saw other people. And when her muggle grandparent’s came over it was always quite awkward. They never truly accustomed to the whole wizarding world. Other than that, the only time she would see other people would be when she occasionally went to Quidditch games. It is largely due to this that Fi became a very big fan of the Irish National Quidditch team. The first time she ever went to a game she was only four years old. It is her earliest memory. The thing she remember most from that day was that she didn’t have to wear her hats she always wore to hide her hair. For the first time ever she didn’t have to hide what she was and the feeling of not having to hide who she was and what she could do. It was exhilarating.

It was through Quidditch that she met her best friend. He was a slightly older boy. She was nine at the time and he was a twelve year old whom had just finished his first year at Hogwarts. They had met at the world cup which she was attending because the Irish had once again made the cup and by the end of the night they would win it again. She had so many questions about Hogwarts. She was both very excited and nervous to go. She had never really spent any amount of time away from her father. She didn’t know how she could wait another two years before she could go. The duo kicked off a great friendship and after that their families began to coincide their attendance to Quidditch games with one another to the best of their abilities. Their friendship would only flourish when she went to Hogwarts two years later. She remember taking her steps onto Diagon Alley. She had only been there a dozen or so times her life, but there was such a different air about the place this time. They got some ice cream like they always did when they went there and got her school books. She’ll never forget when she purchased her wand. She’ll never forget the first time she heard what her wand was. 14 and 2/3 inches. Willow. Dragon heartstring. However, the best part was when she got her very own Scops Owl whom she named Doctor Hoo or Doc for short.

The girl had been antsy the entire ride to the train station and her father didn’t seem to want to let her go. He made her wear a big pair of sunglasses and she bore one of her favorite hats - her Pikachu laplander beanie. The moment she walked through onto platform nine and three-quarters was one of the most magical moments of her life and to this day the platform is still one of her favorite places in the world to be. She met with her elder friend who had her sit with him and his friends. She didn’t get off too well with them as she was overly excited - something some of them found to be a bit annoying. However, her friend was happy to have her there. Everything about Hogwarts was amazing. The boat ride especially. The sorting hat took a long time to figure out what house to put her in. Gryffindor or Hufflepuff were the choices it was stuck on. However, it shouted out Hufflepuff and the Hufflepuff table cheered uproariously as the other tables had for all of the people that were sorted into their houses. It took a moment for her to realize, however, that her friend was in Ravenclaw. When she remembered her heart sank just a bit.

The rest of the year, while exciting, wasn’t everything Fi had built it up to be in her head. She wasn’t with her friend and she failed to make the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. She took it hard. Especially given her third year friend made the Ravenclaw team that year. Despite this, she quickly began to find things she really loved - namely Charms. She was also very good at Herbology. In what seemed like a blink of eye, however, the school year was over and she was already heading back home for the summer. The summer was filled with many long nights with her father, watching old movies, playing video games and listening to music after long days of herbology work. She even got to spend a few days at her friend’s house which was a blast. Soon the summer was over, though and her second year began. Without all the nervousness of being a first year as well as her idealization of the school having been dealt with the previous year, Fi’s second year was much better. She made the Hufflepuff Quidditch team as a Chaser and for the first time during her stay at Hogwarts she felt like she actually had a place at the school. She trained hard, worked hard, fought hard and she played hard. Most of year was filled with rigorous Quidditch training and she loved every second of it. Her father was so proud he even sent her an expensive new broomstick and everything. She especially enjoyed when they faced the Ravenclaw team. Unfortunately, they only came in third that year.

In her third year, things began to get a little bit shaky. It was the first time she really began to notice other girls. On top of this it was first time her grades really started to drop. Between her confusion over her arousal and her rigorous Quidditch training as well as trying to keep some semblance of a social life, Fi’s grades began to drop in both Potions and Transfiguration both of which had always been her worst classes. It got to the point she was told if her grade’s didn’t get better she’d get kicked from the team. She ended up dropping from the Dueling Club despite enjoying ti quite a bit in order to make room for tutoring from her best friend. This was mainly pushed into motion when their beater was injured and she had to start platooning as she was the next best beater on the team. Her whole third year was incredibly frustrating, however, at the very least her fourth year was significantly better.

At first it seemed as if her fourth year was going to be just as frustrating as the previous. After all, her best friend was graduating that year. She did not take it well. He was the main person she had managed to connect with and now he was going off to greener pastures. She couldn’t help but feel selfish, but she needed him then more than ever. Unfortunately she began to push him away a bit. As if to make his graduating less of a blow. She started hanging out with the other Hufflepuff Quidditch team members outside of practice. However, they weren’t her best friend. They were good friends, good team members. She cared about them deeply. But at the end of the day they weren’t her oldest, dearest and most trusted compatriot. They weren’t filling that hole and she was growing more and more uncomfortable as she often times couldn’t stop her eyes from wandering upon her female classmates. She mainly only saw him for occasional tutoring sessions. Luckily she didn’t need them as often as she did before. Her friend wasn’t sorted into Ravenclaw because he was stupid however. Eventually, he brought up the fact she was avoiding him and they ended up staying out past curfew just talking about everything that was going on in their lives just like they always used to. She didn’t tell him about her girl issues, however. She was far too embarrassed and confused over her feelings to delve into talking about them.

Not that she needed to as after they started hanging out more again it wasn’t long before he noticed her eyes sometimes lingering on one girl in particular. He asked why she didn’t just ask her out. He wasn’t joking or anything of the like. Nor did he say it in front of other people. The whole comment flustered and embarrassed her, however, and her mush mouth didn’t help much. He even offered to talk to the girl, but she made him promise not to. She made it very clear it was to stay between the two of them. It was months before she was ready to talk about it in any fashion, but he waited for her to bring it up rather than intruding again. She didn’t talk much about it, but knowing if she ever needed to she had someone there she could talk to was always incredibly comforting. Her best friend’s graduation was the one time in all of her Hogwarts history she actually got anywhere near tearful and she gave her best friend the biggest hug she could muster, but she refused to say good-bye. Instead she chose to say “see you later”. Now her fifth year has begun. For the first time ever she sat with her Quidditch team members on the train ride instead of her best friend. The year has been somewhat melancholy and quiet so far for her, but she wishes to change that as quickly as possible. She’s not going to sit around all year reminiscing about the good ol’ days while feeling sorry for herself. She’s not that old yet.
