Live the Magic
We are only as strong as we are united

THE INTERNATIONAL STATUTE OF TRANSPARENCY

"On this day, the thirteenth of June of the year two thousand and thirty four, in the spirit of honesty, safety and the equality of all mankind, the magical population and the non-magical population will no longer remain hidden from one another, but will be unified as one. Rather than withholding from one another, we today take a step toward a better future, as the union of two such extraordinary cultures and resources promises a betterment in quality of life for all. This statute applies to every living being that is capable of thinking and reasoning for itself. Either Discrimination or Deceptiveness in respect to the statute are both considered the highest form of noncompliance in all countries involved, and are punishable as treason. Every world leader, both magical and non-magical, have signed this statute in agreement that Transparency between the respective communities of the world is the best path toward knowledge and peace."

No Expectations, No Disappointments
Living alone had caused Aeva to grow fond of the holidays, particularly New Years. Why? Mostly because she could drink and stay out late with guys who wanted nothing more than a night of fun and not be judged for it because no one was waiting up for her at home. Of course, after her previous stay in rehab during the middle of last year she was trying her hardest not to get shitfaced drunk but let’s face it - it was New Year’s Eve.

Aeva pulled on a nice sweater with some jeans and her winter boots. The only good thing about living in England - besides having a new life - was that the climate for the most part matched the one back home. Aeva’s long, red hair fell naturally in curls down her back and the sound of melting snow filled her ears as it crunched beneath her boots. She was looking for Hunter, though she wasn’t certain he was even planning on going to the party down in Hogsmeade. In fact, she didn’t even know about it until she heard some young bloke in the Department of Mysteries mention it. However the Hunter Vanderberg she knew would never miss a party and neither would she.

Hogsmeade, for once, looked really nice and sweet smells filled the air. The cup of spiked hot chocolate warmed her hands as the bitter cold licked her face. She’d only had a sip of the hot chocolate so far, but she knew after a few more cups she would be in for some fun. The girl rested on a bench, her legs crossed one over the other as a slight smirk played across her features. Hunter would show up, she knew he would and when he did she’d be there waiting because what fun was a party without your best - and only - friend. The thought made her realise that she need a girl friend, someone like her that wouldn’t mind partying and getting drunk, someone that enjoyed having flings with random hot men, someone to shop with and share all her gossip with. She’d had the chance to make friends at Hogwarts, after all there was that Aoife girl and the Miranda what’s her face, but they didn’t work out and it was a shame too. Aoife and Aeva could’ve been queens, their red hair would’ve attracted men from afar but alas, it was not meant to be so her search would continue. Though Hunter too - was enough.

Renee was still new to the entire social scene in the UK, but she was slowly getting used to it. Apparently, there were clear, distinct lines between the wizards and muggles here. Many wizards in the United States of America mingled with muggles often, living among them and not separated from them. Most wizards and witches had cell phones, but, much to Renee's annoyance, her cell phone apparently didn't work at Hogwarts. The castle had magic woven into its very framework, disrupting muggle electronic equipment, such as cell phones. Ilvermorny was built using physical strength, unlike Hogwarts which had been built using magic. Ilvermorny was a much more natural, wild magic flowing through it, through the halls, but not through the bricks. It was complicated. Renee was just annoyed. It was stupid.

She'd decided, since she was still new to the whole social environment in wizarding UK, she might as well attend the New Years festival in Hogsmeade. Maybe she'd meet someone her age. Besides Hunter and Vy, who were pretty cool, she had to admit. She and Vy had gone for ice cream and sat for an hour and gossiped about what she could expect from Hogwarts. He'd told her to watch out for the transfiguration professor, the younger of the Antonucchi twins, but that the older one, the Potions one, was pretty cool.

Renee had arrived in Hogsmeade, going immediately to the Three Broomsticks to pick up what she'd heard glowing reviews of the spiked hot chocolate (from Vy), she got a mug and started walking around, blowing softly on the hot drink before seeing a woman who looked about her age, with awesome red hair, sitting at a bench. What the hell. She was supposed to be making friends, so why not. She needed a girl friend. One to gossip about Hunter with, to drink with, eat ice cream with, go out and pick up dudes with. And so, she walked over, took a seat beside her, took a drink of her hot chocolate before turning and saying, "Hi. I'm Renee." That should suffice. She flipped her hair over her shoulder and took another drink of the spiked hot chocolate which was surprisingly good; she'd have to thank Vy for the recommendation.
