Live the Magic
We are only as strong as we are united

"On this day, the thirteenth of June of the year two thousand and thirty four, in the spirit of honesty, safety and the equality of all mankind, the magical population and the non-magical population will no longer remain hidden from one another, but will be unified as one. Rather than withholding from one another, we today take a step toward a better future, as the union of two such extraordinary cultures and resources promises a betterment in quality of life for all. This statute applies to every living being that is capable of thinking and reasoning for itself. Either Discrimination or Deceptiveness in respect to the statute are both considered the highest form of noncompliance in all countries involved, and are punishable as treason. Every world leader, both magical and non-magical, have signed this statute in agreement that Transparency between the respective communities of the world is the best path toward knowledge and peace."

Registration Information

So you've decided to create a character with us! We're know that you're excited to start your application, but first we'd like to ask you to take a thorough look at the information in this forum. While we encourage creativity, there are just a few restrictions that we place on our characters. Please be sure to always reference this this thread before creating a new character, as any current restrictions and suggestions will be detailed here below!

General Guidelines
No matter what type of character you're creating, we have a few general guidelines that we'd like you to follow. Please keep these in mind when creating any character.

1. Be creative! Not every character is perfect, and we'd like to see some variation in yours. Quirks and flaws make characters interesting and unique, so make sure to include some in your character's personality.

2. You may create a student or adult character, but keep in mind that one of your first two characters must be a student.

3. You may choose any blood status for your character, but if you would like them to be a descendent of a canon family please reference our Canon Family Claim. Only the characters listed in the Canon Family Claim thread are available for character creation.

4. All characters, including Canon descendants, must be original. Direct canon characters aren't available for creation.

5. You may create muggles, but please reference the "Muggles" section further below in this thread.

6. We do accept characters with special abilities, however these characters are limited. Please reference our Special Ability Claim to see what abilities are still available before completing your application.

7. Please do not create any characters younger than the age of eleven.

Student Characters
We are currently in need of student characters! Students make up a very large portion of our site! In fact, if you reference the rules, you'll remember that one of your first two characters is required to be a student. When creating a student character, we ask that you follow a few light guidelines when writing their application.

1.Students are characters between the ages of eleven and eighteen that attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

2. We have no sorting process. You may choose your student character's school house and year, but we do have a limited amount of spaces for both. Please reserve your character's house and year in the Hogwarts Student Claim list before creating your character. Reference this list to be sure the house and year you'd like them to be in has an open spot.

3. Please be sure that your character fits into the house you've chosen for them. Character's whose personalities contradict their houses will be pended, and you will be asked to edit either personality or house.

4. We are currently in need of muggle students! However, as with the Hogwarts houses, there is a restriction on this. Please reserve a muggle student in the Hogwarts Student Claim list before creating your character, to be sure that the year you'd like them to be in has an open spot for muggle students. Please see the "Muggles" section further below for more details concerning muggle characters.

4. We are currently not accepting transfer students Please be sure that your student character lives in an area appropriate to attend Hogwarts school.

5. All students begin Hogwarts at the age of eleven or later. The current In Character year is 2035, so be sure your character's birthday supports their school year.

Adult Characters
We are currently accepting adult characters. If you would like to make an adult character, please refer to the general guidelines listed above. Adult characters have relatively little restriction. They may be alumni of any Hogwarts house, as well as any magical school. Adult characters may have a job, but will need to reference our Jobs Claim list to see what types of jobs are available and open.

Muggle Characters
We are currently in need of muggle characters! Thanks to our interesting new plot, you may now create muggle characters! Muggles have just learned the truth about magic, and will likely have wildly differing opinions about it. We've done our best to make it easy to bring muggles into this world, and they're an absolute necessity to round out our plot!! We simply ask that you refer to the guidelines below before creating a muggle character.

1. Muggles may be created as students or adults.

2. Remember that Hogwarts only accepts two muggles per class year, and that the list of open spaces can be found in the Hogwart's Students thread.

3. Muggle students will reside in House dormitories like all other students. You may choose any house for your Muggle Character, regardless of open spaces in the Hogwarts Students list. Muggles will be considered an extra addition to their house of choice, and will not fill an empty house spot.

4. If you would like to create a school-aged muggle that does not attend Hogwarts, you may. While we won't be creating a separate school for muggle students, you're welcome to roleplay with them in any of the world's public areas. However, these characters will not be permitted on Hogwarts grounds.

5. Please remember that the Muggle students attending Hogwarts this term have either applied or been forced by their parents to apply for the opportunity, and have been granted acceptance by the headmaster.

6. Muggle characters may enter wizarding locations such as Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, as the statute has opened most hidden barriers between the two worlds.
